You don’t have to tell us twice, what a year it has been! Last year brought about so many unprecedented circumstances which affected so many people tremendously in many different ways. We all had so many plans, and so much to do, and all of that was halted abruptly with something many of us have never seen before in our lifetime.
Many of you may have had to change your wedding date once, twice, or even three times. It was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel as everything was in chaos, but we are happy to say, things are finally getting brighter!
As of Friday, May 7th, guidelines for weddings will expand to 50% capacity of a banquet room or 250 people max. Dance floor will be allowed to open at private catered events with masking and social distancing in place! But wait, there’s more…!
As of May 19th, there will be many other changes in New Jersey regarding COVID Guidelines. Here are a few that may directly pertain to your wedding or event:
- Outdoor gathering limits are removed, but groups must keep at least 6 feet of distance from each other and wear a mask when social distancing isn’t possible.
- Indoor gathering limit for house parties and other social events will increase to 50 people.
- If there is no unexpected surge in COVID-19 numbers, celebrations and catered events / wedding receptions may be held at 100 percent of a room’s capacity, but no more than 250 people. Individuals or groups of people must remain six feet apart.
We are so happy that after all of this time, we can hopefully get back to some form of normalcy. We have already had clients overjoyed at the fact they can now invite more family and friends to their special event. Weddings and celebrations of any kind are all about making memories and spending time with people who mean the most to you. Last year was difficult, and many of us were unable to be with those that we care about. Many couples had virtual live-streamed weddings, wishing their loved ones could be there in person. Fast forward to today, we are finally able to have that chance and in larger numbers than ever before. This does not mean that we still do not have to be careful and mindful, but it is remarkable progress. New Jersey, we are heading in the right direction!
