It's Mom's Day Too

That’s right, it’s not always about the bride and groom… well for a moment. Their moms get some love on the special day too.

A wedding is about love and the coming together of two families. Roses represent joy, happiness, and new beginnings. Moms are a symbol of bringing families together to help teach those qualities to the newly weds.

A presentation rose during the ceremony lets the bride and groom display their gratitude towards their mothers by presenting them with a single rose.

Mothers are who have helped the bride and groom get through life by teaching them gratefulness, positive energy, and strength. Moms get us through our darkest moments and help us see the good in everyone. They know what family means and know how to make everyone feel like a part of the family.

A special dance is another great way to make your mom feel special on your wedding day. Even if you don’t like to dance.

Picking a song that is significant to you and your mom makes her feel loved and lets her know that you are still going be  her little baby forever.

When picking a song, the song should have meaning and be fun for both the mom and the bride or groom. A nice slow song like “You’re Gonna Be” by Reba McEntire or an upbeat song like “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen will show mom how much you care for her.

I recently went to a wedding where the bride and groom switched dances with the mothers and danced with each other moms. It was beautiful to see the families really coming together and becoming one and having the moms accept the other as their own child.

So thank you moms for cleaning our diapers, wiping our tears, making us laugh, and continuing being our moms even well into our adult years.
