Answers to All Your Questions on NJ’s Marriage Restrictions During Covid-19

Answers to All of Your Questions on NJ's Marriage Restrictions During COVID-19

With Covid-19 still running rampant in New Jersey there are changes happening constantly to NJ’s state regulations on events. We have the answers to your question on what rules are in place for events and weddings in NJ and what safety guidelines you should be taking.

First, let’s start with the numbers. The latest regulation lift in New Jersey made it possible for indoor events to start. These are limited to either 150 people allowed indoors or 25% of the rooms capacity. However, you need to go with the lower number. Masks are a must and social distancing must be practiced, which makes dance floors impossible unfortunately. Outdoor events are limited to 500 guests with social distancing still being practiced.

If you don’t want to postpone your special day, there are ways to still have a picture perfect wedding by following these simple safety guidelines.

  • Advise your guests to remain in their homes if they have potentially been exposed to the virus. This includes visiting any of the restricted states on Governor Murphy’s list.
  • Masks! Whether you are having an event indoors or doing a backyard wedding, every single guest should come prepared and wear a mask.
  • Provide the proper hand sanitation for guests.
  • Try and avoid your guests having to serve their own food via buffet. Limit one person to serve the food.
  • Keep a list of all guests that attended your wedding in case a potential case arises and contact tracers call you.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Space out your tables far enough to make people feel comfortable.

These safety regulations don’t necessarily have to be boring and dull. Utilizing a chalkboard sign to remind your guests to wash their hands can get the job done while looking trendy. Spruce up hand sanitizers on the tables with personalized labels to correspond with your weddings theme.

Masks are the latest fashion trend dominating almost every store’s inventory and have turned into a fashionable accessory (Photo Credit: Pinterest).

There is no doubt that Covid-19 has impacted the lives of millions of people. However, there is a silver lining to every situation that comes our way. There is a new surge of creativity especially within the world of weddings that have increased the beauty and uniqueness of events all over the world.

A Checklist For Your Intimate Wedding

A Checklist For Your Intimate Wedding

The Overall View

Budget

The first thing you want to do is talk to your parents and/or your partner to set a budget. This will help you know how much you can spend on each part of the wedding.

Style

The next step is to talk about what theme or wedding style you and your partner are going for. Do you want it to be whimsical, vintage, rustic, beach-y? This is important to know at the beginning so that you can start planning where and how you want to have it.

Guest List

Creating a guest list with your partner might seem like it is easy but it can be hard sometimes. The first thing to talk about is how many guests you want at the wedding and try your best to stick with that number. This will make it easier for you in the long run because you have to think about seating arrangements, food, and more.

The Primary Vendors

Venue

The most important part is locking down a venue. Making sure you have the perfect place for your wedding is so important because you have to plan everything around their rules and structure. If you decided to have a backyard wedding then your priority is to find a perfect tent for the amount of guests you’re having because weather can be so unpredictable.

Outfits

Having all the outfits planned out is also on top of the list. It is not just your wedding dress that you have to worry about, it is also finding the perfect tuxedo for your husband-to-be and coordinating dresses for your bridesmaids.

Photography / Videography / Caterers

Having a photographer or videographer that will record your wedding night the way you want it at the price you want can be very stressful which is why it is on the top of our list. It is a memory that you are going to want to have recorded and you will want it to be perfect. It is also important to find who you want to make your cake and cater the food at your wedding.

The Secondary Vendors

Now it is time to hire the rest of the crew. This is when you start hiring your hair and make up artist, florist, DJ/Band, officiant etc. All of these people are what make your wedding truly come together on the big day so make sure you do not forget about them!

The Specifics

By the time you get to these steps the wedding is getting pretty close and everything is truly coming together. This is the time to start focusing on the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. You must make sure that they all are ready for the big day.  You have to send out the invitations and decide on what wedding favors you are giving out.

Everything Else

The wedding day should be getting very close now and you have to remember to make the vendor payments, hotel and transportation details, the marriage license, and any other important tasks.

Your Perfect Wedding During a Pandemic

Your Perfect Wedding During a Pandemic

What do you do when the current COVID-19 pandemic forces you to cancel your wedding with your booked venue? You have a backyard (or outdoor) wedding!!! Several brides have made the difficult decision to postpone their weddings, creating such uncertainty for their future celebrations, but why not get married anyway — just in a different way! NJ Wedding Pros was able to recently be present at a beautiful backyard wedding, and we don’t think the day could have been more perfect, pandemic or not (check out some gorgeous photos below)! At the end of the day, your wedding is about celebrating your marriage with the people you love most. We are here to help make your day perfect, regardless of the circumstances, by helping you plan the most special backyard wedding!

Here are some things to keep in mind when planning an outdoor wedding:

Tent Rentals: It is best to rent multiple tents for the day! This will keep guests out of the sun (or rain), while also giving you an option to decorate even more. I mean, look how perfect the tents look in the photos above decorated with lights and greenery!!

Flowers and Decor: Being outside, these two aspects will be the most important to create personal touches, or a theme if that’s what you’d like! Don’t just stop at flowers, add some special additions to the decor too, such as photos from throughout your relationship, family mementos, etc. NJ Wedding Pros is an expert at setting up gorgeous weddings and cannot wait to help make yours look picture perfect!

The Ceremony: While some churches may permit guests to view the ceremony, why not have it outdoors as well, so even more people can see you tie the knot?!? If that is the case, we recommend renting a beautiful arch for the alter! Not only does this create a special place for the bride and the groom to stand, but it acts as gorgeous decor (and a perfect photo spot!) to make your day more special! Check out some of the arches that NJ Wedding Pros rents (and some of our other rentals that will make a great addition to your day!).

Entertainment: Maybe you don’t want a DJ for a backyard wedding, but how about a photo booth?! This is a great way for guests to capture special memories from your wedding, while also adding a fun touch to your one-of-a-kind day! NJ Wedding Pros has countless options to choose from

Work with your former venue: Not all venues may be willing to refund some of the money that has been put towards your wedding date. While that may be disappointing at first, make it something positive! Communicate with the venue and see how that money could be spent. Maybe they could provide the food and a caterer could come to your backyard! Perhaps a hotel could offer you a special room to stay in pre-honeymoon! Many places are understanding of these hectic times, so reach out to see how they might be willing to work with you!

Spread Love, Not Germs!: While hosting a wedding during a pandemic, health and safety should be a priority. Leave some hand sanitizer throughout the backyard for each guest to keep! Another cute, fun way to address this is by offering custom hand sanitizer as a favor to guests — check out some options we love on Pinterest . . . and look at that full bin of hand sanitizers for guests to take as they sign the guest book!

NJ Wedding Pros can help guide you through the best ways to plan a wedding during the current pandemic. The biggest challenges might be shortening the guest list and ensuring that local regulations are followed, but there is no reason you cannot still have some type of celebration! As we are heading into the fall season, there are so many beautiful ways to hold a wedding outside! Though your wedding might look different than you originally planned, with your closest loved ones surrounding you on your special day, it is sure to be perfect. We are here to help you navigate these new ways of wedding planning, and can’t wait to help make your wedding a day to remember for sure!

Happy Planning!

2021 Event Trends

2021 Event Trends

Gratitude

The global pandemic has made everyone feel more grateful for the life they have. In 2021, event hosts are going to express their gratitude towards their friends and family on a larger scale and appreciate the time they are spending together. There will most likely be more treats and party favors that express how thankful they are to have them around them.

Sustainability

Since there was a decrease in transportation and people’s normal daily activities, there has been an increase in air quality and Earth’s health. This has opened up a lot of people’s eyes and made them realize that they can do better by using products that could be re-used for other things and events. People are also starting to focus on buying products from sustainable suppliers, caterers, and venues. A great and easy way to start shopping sustainably is by buying a wedding dress from an eco-friendly and ethical bridal gown shop.

Intimate Weddings

In 2021, people will seek more meaningful and intimate experiences with those who they love the most. In return, there will be a decrease in large, extravagant weddings and an increase in smaller intimate ones. This will allow couples to focus on appreciating those around them and having a great time with the people who mean the most to them.

Color Trends

The color scheme trends revolve around a lot of natural tones such as sage, terracotta, blush, and more. These colors allow your wedding to have more of a comfort-feel to it. These colors are already pretty popular but with the need for an intimate feel, there will be an increase in popularity with these in 2021.
